Job Overview

The positions of Academic Research Administrators (CRAs) have been created to provide groups of research-active PIs in selected departments and units with cradle-to-grave support for sponsored research. The role of the CRAs is to ease the administrative burden on PIs so they can increase their research productivity and the overall volume of sponsored research at Georgetown.


Key Responsibilities

The CRA will facilitate the conduct and administration of research by proactively providing relevant and complete information to PIs and ORS/SPFO/IRB and other staff associated with the following tasks:

Proposal development
Contracting and sub-award management
Financial management
Reporting and compliance, including IRB


Minimum Requirements

- Master’s degree or professional qualification preferred, and five to seven years of relevant experience, ideally including grant accounting in a higher-education.
- At least two years in pre- or post-award sponsored research management, preferably in a higher education setting.
- Superior oral and written communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external constituents including faculty members, their staff, central university offices, sponsors, and auditors.


Ideal Candidate

Knowledge of Workday/GMS an advantage.
